Vas Promotions MD comments on Russia’s World Cup Performance

Despite being knocked out on penalties at the hands of Croatia, Russia far exceeded expectations as the hosts of the 2018 World Cup and Russian-born MD at Vas Promotions, Vasile Topciu, has commented on the team's incredible performance that saw them overachieve to make it to the quarterfinals.

Before the start of the tournament, the Russian team had dropped to 70 in the world rankings, making them the lowest ranked team in the World Cup.

Russia had failed to win in seven friendlies leaving few with the hope that they could even navigate their way out of the group stages; however, expectations were raised after a 5-0 opening victory against Saudi Arabia, and from there Russia went on to surprise everyone, making it to the last eight.
