WRC Sweden: the Ultimate Winter Race as Seen from a Drone

A tough winter wonderland for a tough WRC Sweden. From the 9th-12th of February, the drivers in the Nordic leg of the championship unleashed their cars power through snow banks, icy roads and the iconic Colin's Crest jump, all rigorously filmed by a DJI Inspire 2.

Winding throughout the sharp landscapes of Sweden and Norway, the rally is the ultimate frost test for drivers, cars and drones.

Don’t let your readers miss out on the action and share with them DJI’s latest WRC video.

Drones, the Unsung Heroes of Fire Fighters

Drones are often portrayed as troublesome to firefighters but when 35 members of Chile's Drone Pilots Association gathered around some of the world’s worst fires wrapping San José de Maipo, Pirque, Marchigüe, and several other towns south of Santiago on January 31, 2017, to offer their help, the aviation authorities did not hesitate to issue flying permission.

A drone’s eye can reach places humans cannot access safely and the pilots were called upon by the national fire fighters to pinpoint the exact origin of the flames in Séptima Región and to report on the spreading fire in Linares.

The drones’ images even resulted in the National Forest Corporation changing their action plan as they showed that the real danger was not for woods close by but for an adjacent inhabited area.

Despite Chile’s Drone Pilots Association being founded less than a year ago their experience is having a huge impact on society.
