Experts at the world’s leading independent cruise review website Cruise Critic have voted Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines ‘Best for Itineraries’ in its prestigious ‘UK Editors’ Picks Awards 2016’, for the second year running! The winners are selected by Cruise Critic’s team of knowledgeable cruise experts, based on the lines and ships that they feel are ‘at the top of their game’, and best represent excellence in each of the 15 categories.

Adam Coulter, UK Editor of Cruise Critic, said:

“These awards consider the needs of UK travellers – whatever their budget, and personal preferences – to help them plan the perfect holiday on the water. The ever-increasing itinerary and ship options offered are impressive, and by sharing our combined first-hand insight and expertise, we can celebrate some of the top choices available.

"Fred. Olsen, who we are pleased to award ‘Best for Itineraries’, offers a variety of cruise holidays – from a five-night cruise from Newcastle to the Norwegian Fjords, to a 108-night 'Around the World' voyage from Southampton, including Sydney. The line also offers fantastic fly-cruise itineraries to destinations like Africa and the Amazon, plus river, mini and unique mystery cruises.”

Fred. Olsen will be visiting no fewer than 220 destinations in 70 countries around the globe in 2017/18, plus 118 areas of scenic cruising. Cruises range from a five-night ‘Norwegian Fjords’ getaway on flagship Balmoral from Newcastle – the ideal ‘taster’ cruise for new guests – to two epic ‘Grand Voyages’ on Black Watch and Balmoral in January 2018, visiting a total of 46 ports in 35 countries between them.

Black Watch will be setting sail on a 108-night ‘Wonders of the World’ cruise, and Balmoral will be cruising to South America on a 46-night ‘Rio Carnival & River Plate’ adventure.

Martin Lister, Itinerary and Experience Development Manager for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, we have a very clear vision: ‘It’s all about the experience!’ We are renowned for giving our guests a very different kind of cruise holiday, and for 2017/18, we have worked even harder than ever to create over 100 unique and innovative sailings, which will enable our guests to see the world in a very different, and very special, way.

“We would like to thank the Cruise Critic experts for recognising the considerable lengths that we go to at Fred. Olsen to refresh the calendar each year, creating new and innovative itineraries, as well as recognising and improving upon our popular proven cruises.

“We are proud to continue to offer our guests the widest range of worldwide destinations, appealing to all tastes and interests.”

Fred. Olsen’s 2017/18 cruise programme also includes nine maiden calls: Lipari, Italy; Heligoland, Germany; Amalfi, Italy; Lajes das Flores, Azores; Southwold, England; Ghent, Belgium; Olbia, on the island of Sardinia, Italy; Sorrento, Italy; and Pula, Croatia.
