Last Chance To Book - Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' EBU Bridge Cruise Tournament

BALMORAL L1003 CANARY ISLANDS FROM DOVER 03 MAY 2010

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has teamed up with the English Bridge Union to offer an EBU -sanctioned bridge tournament on board Balmoral, hosted by well-known player and Daily Express bridge correspondent, Paul Hackett. There are still a few spaces remaining so keen bridge players should book a cruise now!

Both experienced and novice players can take part, with Paul Hackett giving talks and commenting on each day’s play. This is a unique opportunity to combine some serious bridge playing with a wonderful, warm-weather itinerary to the Canaries, as they bask in Spring sunshine. The presence of a player of Paul Hackett’s calibre - a Gold Medal winner in the World Senior Championship – will enhance the cruise for all participants.

In addition to the bridge element, the cruise has a very attractive itinerary. Sailing from Dover on May 3, 2010 aboard the elegant ship Balmoral, the cruise visits Madeira, La Palma. Tenerife, Gran Canaria and the Portuguese capital Lisbon, before returning to Dover.

Prices start from £919 per person, based on two sharing an inside twin cabin and include all meals and entertainment on board, plus port taxes. For just another £100 guests can take part in the bridge tournament and, of course, benefit from the world-class advice and tips imparted by Paul Hackett – which must be fantastic value for money. Players will also earn EBU points from their involvement in the exclusive tournament.

For more information on Balmoral and this particular cruise itinerary, visit www.fredolsencruises.co.uk To book, call reservations on 01473 742424, or see an ABTA travel agent – you can also book online.  Note: Participation in the Bridge Group must be booked through Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
