Network Rail has partnered up with Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) and local artist Aimi Rix to create striking artwork which was unveiled yesterday to improve passenger experience at Luton station.
Govia Thameslink Railway has awarded grants totalling £448,000 to 37 organisations who are launching community projects close to stations served by the train operator.
Rail passengers are being advised to plan ahead and check for journey updates while multi-million-pound Midland Main Line upgrades continue.
Network Rail and train operators are reminding passengers to plan ahead and check before travelling as further improvement work to the Midland Main Line takes place across two weekends in March.
Network Rail will be carrying out major upgrades to the Midland Main Line across four weekends in February and March resulting in some changes to East Midlands Railway and Thameslink services.
Major upgrade work as part of the Midland Main Line Upgrade project is set to continue into January and February with improvements to be made to overhead line equipment on selected weekends, with changes to Thameslink services between Bedford and Luton.
Network Rail is advising passengers to check before they travel as major engineering work will impact on services between Bedford and London St Pancras over the next two weekends.

Network Rail has started work at Luton station as part of an extensive programme of improvements and upgrades designed to improve passenger experience.
The work will see the station canopies on platform 1 and 2 replaced, and a new, accessible bridge and three lifts installed.

Passengers travelling to and from London on the Midland Main Line are being urged to plan ahead this weekend as major upgrades get under way.
A £1.5 million programme to strengthen a railway bridge in Kempston Hardwick, Bedfordshire will get under way this month to improve reliability for passengers. Over the next five months, Network Rail engineers will repair and strengthen the steel girders and bridge deck and improve drainage and guttering on the structure which carries the Midland Main Line over the B530 Ampthill Road.
