UPDATED: Network Rail statement about today's disruption

Following significant disruption today, Network Rail has issued this further statement:

“Despite our best efforts, the knock-on effects of an interruption to our signalling power supply mean that we will not be able to run a full Southern service from Victoria and London Bridge this evening.

“Drivers and trains were left out of position after this morning and the intensity of the service and further difficulties with our equipment meant that we could not get everything back into the right place for tonight.

“However, a full Thameslink service will operate as normal and I would advise passengers to check before they travel.

“I’m really sorry for the continuing disruption today.”
