Just the ticket: Great Northern staff present Air Ambulance with fundraising cheque
Following a day of fundraising challenges in November, Great Northern staff at King's Lynn Station have presented the East Anglian Air Ambulance Service with a cheque for £1,525.
The team cycled a total of 362 kilometres on exercise bikes – beating their goal of cycling the circumference of Norfolk, an intimidating 316.6 kilometres.
The fundraising challenges also involved a lot of hair removal: train cleaning supervisor Vicky Somerton had her head shaved and train driver Brian Cain had his chest and back waxed.
Graeme Pratt, Station Manager at King's Lynn Station, said: "It was a great day, everybody enjoyed it and it was a good team building activity. I spoke to Tammy Swiderski about the air ambulance service and the costs of running it, and she was very happy to receive the cheque."
Great Northern employees chose the East Anglian Air Ambulance as their charity for 2018.
