Network Rail apologises for Thameslink delays

Problems on Thameslink last night and this morning has prompted Network Rail, which manages the track, signalling and power supply, to issue the following apology:

"We apologise to passengers on the Midland Main Line for recent disruption to services. Yesterday (Sunday 19 June) a fault with the overhead line system which powers trains blocked tunnels at Camden. This meant that East Midlands Trains were unable to access St Pancras. This morning (Monday 20 June) engineering work on the track south of Radlett near Belsize overran until 9am. This affected Thameslink services and caused further disruption to East Midlands Trains.

"Full access to St Pancras is available this morning and the engineering work has completed. We are working with East Midlands Trains and Thameslink to get trains and crews where they need to be and to restore a full service as soon as possible."
