Switches for stable machine networks

Press release -

Switches for stable machine networks

The new, intelligent switches in the FL Switch 2000 line from Phoenix Contact allow networks used in serial machine production to be set up and monitored quickly and easily.

Smart networks are increasingly needed for the automatic detection and removal of errors in serial machine production. However, unmanaged switches in common use today are no longer able to meet these requirements. As an alternative, the new switches from the Switch 2000 line provide configuration and monitoring options for machine networks that do just that: The multicast filter functions and redundancy mechanisms help reduce the data load in the network and maintain communication even in the event of unwanted loops or device failure. These functions are also available when operating the switches as passive network devices in the new, unique unmanaged mode. The device is configured via an SD card or the smart mode button located on the device.
