Automobile crashes are the greatest cause of death for pregnant females and the leading cause of traumatic fatal injury and mortality in the United States. In a 3 year study of injury and mortality in selected states, 82% were a result of maternal injury in motor vehicle crashes.
An average estimate from several sources indicates that each year in the U.S.A, approximately 160 pregnant women are killed in motor vehicle crashes and an additional 600–2600 unborn babies are killed when the mother survives.
BESAFE PREGNANT IZI FIX IS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN TO HELP POSITION THE CAR BELT CORRECTLY.
This correct positioning is very important to protect both the mother and the unborn child. It makes sure that the lap belt can not intrude into the abdomen and that the mother can not be subjected to submarining (sub-marining = when the mother slides under the lap belt towards the front in a frontal impact).
Can be used in all vehicle seat positions
The BeSafe Pregnant iZi FIX has 2 possible ways of installation in the car:
1. With a strap around the vehicle seat.
2. With 2 FIX connectors in rear vehicle seats when isofix anchorages are fitted (when used with isofix, you can take the strap off).
With these 2 options you can use the product in all positions in the car, a unique benefit from BeSafe.
Prevents the lap belt from intrusion into the abdomen.
The BeSafe Pregnant belt does not interfere with the safety performance of the 3-point car belt, but it helps to position the lap belt so it always stays in the right position.
