The Hive Collective React to Changing Attitudes towards University Education

Recent research has shown that for the sixth consecutive year, the number of young people who view university as a necessity for career success has fallen. Sales and Marketing community The Hive Collective has voiced how they are supporting young people who choose a vocational route to success.

A new poll released earlier this month by social mobility charity the Sutton Trust has revealed that an increasing number of young people are rejecting university in favour of taking a more vocational route to professional success. The research, which polled 11 to 16-year-olds found that for the sixth consecutive year, fewer young people view university as an essential step to success, with an overall fall of 11 percent.

The Hive Collective: About the Company

Reasons driving this change of attitudes span from wanting to escape the rigid structure of classroom-based learning, to wanting to experience new challenges to being more financially free and avoiding student debt.

The Hive Collective is impressed that young people are exploring new ways to achieve success and are eager to start their professional futures as soon as possible, on their own terms. The Hive Collective has long supported learning ‘on the job’ and the development of real-world skills, so much so that this has become a pillar of the firm’s inclusive culture. 'We believe it’s only right that everyone gets a shot at success, which is why we don’t focus on background, qualifications or experience when building our community. If you have the ambition, we’ll match it by providing you with the building blocks you need to build a solid future’, outlines the firm’s CEO Matt Stewart.

Alongside its work as an innovative event marketing agency, The Hive Collective is on a mission to inspire, educate and motivate people so that they can create their own success in the fast-growing sales and marketing industry. As well as offering daily skills workshops and mentoring, the firm also provides its workforce with national and international business trips, and the opportunity to be coached and developed by professionals; giving each individual that comes through their doors the chance to lay the foundations for long-lasting business success.
