Solar Weekend welcomes international guests

After a decade of huge success in the Netherlands, the super creative Solar Weekend will be more international than ever before. The musical roster is again world-class this year. The Mainstage, where all genres meet, will be adorned by none other than Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, from The Bloody Beetroots. The Mainstage bounces like never before with highly-praised Dutch rapper Typhoon. Adam Beyer, Franky Rizardo, Monika Kruse and Carl Craig among others will take good care of our techno-minded guests. And especially for our British guests the master of house Joost van Bellen will host his stage together with British agency Decked Out!. Alex Metric, Louisahhh!!!, Riptide, Gramatik are among the talent the English agency will bring.

Solar Weekend is known as the most creative festival of Europe. Every year public registration is held for creative collectives to submit a design for anything designable. From gigantic dragons to toilet decoration. The winning concepts are rewarded with everlasting fame, and the immense pride that goes along with visitors brought to ecstasy by the fairytale-like constructions.

Solar Weekend supplies truckloads of materials, from nails to tree bark, scaffolding and delicious food and drinks. A unique concept, where everything is made by hand. In the week prior to the festival starts the super picturesque grounds transform into a huge construction site. As the days go by, each year a small miracle occurs. Elegant, atmospheric, 100 percent homemade creations arise along the beaches of the Maasplassen, which is primarily why Solar Weekend receives international praise.
