Orbit Homes tees off to raise £17,000 for the Stroke Association

Staff and partners of Orbit Homes in Coventry, the UK’s second largest developing housing association, have raised £17,000 for the Stroke Association at their annual golf day.

Members of staff across the Midlands were joined by the company’s suppliers and contractors around the region at Warwickshire Golf Club in Leek Wootton, Warwickshire, for a day of hole-in-ones, trick shots, and entertainment. The funds raised were presented to the Stroke Association on Monday 19 September.

George Obeng-Manu, Orbit Homes’ Head of Construction, said: “Over the last six years, our legendary golf days have raised an impressive £155,000 for charity. As well as everyone having a lot of fun, it’s a pleasure to be able to come together, as a business and with our partners, to support both local and national charities."

Georgina Lawrence, Regional Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “The Orbit team has truly gone the extra mile for the Stroke Association. Without the efforts of fundraisers like this, we wouldn’t be able to support the 120,000 people in the West Midlands who are currently living with the devastating effects of stroke, as well as their families and carers.”

With special thanks to Orbit’s golf day sponsors: A C Lloyd New Homes and Wright Hassall Solicitors, SMDL New Homes and Squire Patton Boggs Solicitors.
