Press release -
Meet a hedgehog and Barn Owl
On Bank Holiday Weekend,
Sunday 4 May and Monday 5 May from 11am – 4pm, Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre
will be hosting Rochdale Hedgehog Rescue Society where they will be allowing
people the chance to meet a hedgehog as well as a barn owl.
Sue Lewis from Rochdale Hedgehog Rescue Society said:
“The event is perfect for young children to learn more about hedgehogs. Currently hedgehog numbers in the UK are on the decline and more needs to be done to help preserve and increase awareness of the growing problems. And with events like this the whole family can learn how the simplest of changes in their gardens can help the hedgehogs.”
The event is to be part of Hedgehog Awareness Week running from 4-10 May, which takes place every year. It aims are to highlight the problems hedgehogs face and how you can help them.
