Jon Barrick to step down as CEO of the Stroke Association in 2016
In a statement Jon commented:
‘After 11 challenging, happy and successful years working with many dedicated colleagues, Trustees, volunteers and others in the world of Stroke, I feel that the time has come for me to hand the baton on to a new CEO.
I have been very privileged to have been in this exciting and inspiring role for the time that I have, but it is all consuming and has required me to operate at a high level of intensity over many years. For this reason I have decided that it is now time to let someone else take over and for me to recharge my batteries.
The Stroke Association has made significant progress over the 11 years of my tenure based on partnerships with great organisations and people within the wider stroke world. I would like to thank all those with whom I have had the pleasure to work alongside for their unwavering support and dedication in driving forward the cause for stroke prevention and research and in providing better stroke care, to improve life after stroke, for the 1.2m stroke survivors in the UK who are, and will continue to be, at the heart of all that we do’.
