Survivors take a Step Out for Stroke in Luton
Over 55 stroke survivors and Luton residents raised over £1,000 for the Stroke Association, by taking part in the charity’s Step out for Stroke walk at Wardown Park, on Sunday 23 July.
Louise Everett, Community and Events Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “The local community really helped us to make this an event to remember and we’re delighted with the turnout and amount raised. It was a great atmosphere, the sun made an appearance, and we’re just so very grateful to everyone for their support.
“We also want to say a huge thank you to the Mayor of Luton and the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire for joining us on the day too.
“Our Step Out for Stroke events mark a milestone for many stroke survivors taking part and some truly inspirational people took their first steps since their stroke. Everyone who took part has helped to raise vital funds for people affected by stroke.”
