V.Ships Ukraine recognised in Ukrainian Maritime Rating awards

V.Ships Ukraine was recognised in the Ukrainian Maritime Rating awards, winning not one but two prestigious awards – Employer of the year and Cadet programme of the year.

This is the first time the awards have been made to crewing companies, recognizing the growing number engaged in the recruitment of Ukrainian seafarers in global shipping. Data from the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine estimates 115,000 Ukrainian seafarers are employed, which contributes $1.4 billion investment into the economy.

Captain Igor Safin, Managing Director of V.Ships Ukraine (pictured) accepted the award on behalf of his team: “It is an honour to be nominated to receive this award in recognition of our commitment to providing opportunities for our Ukrainian seafarers.”

In 2015 V.Ships Ukraine recruited 6,497 seafarers and employed 552 cadets providing them with their initial officer positions.
