The new Tele2 Arena opens in July

Stockholm's entertainment district, Globen City, will be extended with a new multi-purpose arena. The Tele2 Arena with capacity for 40,000 people on a concert will be inaugurated on 24 August 2013, where some of Sweden's most popular artists, including Robyn will perform. The first events will take place already in July.

Globen City is located in an expanding area of Stockholm's meet packing district, Söderstaden, and currently has over 1.5 million visitors per year. In time Söderstaden will be tied together with the inner city. The area holds four venues with a total capacity of 70 000 visitors: Annexet (3500), Hovet (9000), Ericsson Globe (16,500) and Tele2 Arena (40, 000) and the SkyView attraction (1000). Adjacent is the Meet Packing district with a focus on food.

The event district is located in an area with good communications. There is access to good public transport, a well-developed road network and parking areas in close proximity to shops, hotels and restaurants.

Tolv is a new destination in Tele 2
A new entertainment destination will open this fall in the street level to the new Tele2 Arena named Tolv Stockholm. Under one roof you will find a selection of  food, live music and entertainment. In an area of twelve thousand square meters, visitors will be welcomed at least twelve hours a day, twelve months a year. Tolv means Twelve in Swedish.

Tele2 Arena will be inaugurated on August 24
The stadium's official opening will take place on August 24, with concerts of Kent, Robyn and Lars Winnerbäck. Before the sly, we start with a busy premiere week:

July 20 Hammarby - Örgryte (soccer)
July 21 Djurgården - Norrköping (soccer)
July 23 Hammarby - Paris Saint-Germain (soccer)
July 27 Gyllene Tider (concert)

Operation of Tele2 Arena will be performed by the global entertainment and sport event company AEG Facilities. Which in fact is the same company that currently operates the existing arenas at Globen City.
