7% increase: 929 000 guest nights in October 2013

929 000 guest nights was made in hotels and other commercial accommodations in Stockholm County during October 2013. It is an increase by 60 000, +7 percent, compared to the same period last year. Sweden in total experienced an increase of 2 percent during the same period. 

October represented a gain for both domestic and foreign guest nights, with an increase of 8% respective 4% compared to the same period last year. The strongest international gain came from Non-Europeans.  Important markets like Germany, France and Russia continue to grow, while the number of guest nights from Great Britain, USA, Italy and Spain declined during October.

Stockholm is the engine in Sweden’s tourism. 9,4 million guest nights was made during the first ten months in Stockholm county, which is an increase with 2 percent compared to the same period 2012.

During the past ten years the number of bed nights has doubled. And the goal is to reach 15 million bed nights by 2020. In 2012, Stockholm had 10.8 million bed nights. So far this year, Stockholm had  9,4 million bed nights, which is an increase of 2 percent compared with the same period last year.
