War on Ukraine is still ongoing. So is also the humantarian work supported by AOECS Emergency Fund. Up until now over 38 000 kg of gluten free food has been shipped to Ukrainian coeliac families in need. Read more about our efforts and how you can support.
Generous donations and individual efforts make shipments of gluten free food to Ukraine possible. The help is coordinated and funded with help from the AOECS Emergency Fund. Until now 20 shipments with over 30 tons of food has been delivered to coeliac families inside Ukraine. This work will be continued for as long as it is necessary.
Latvian Coeliac Society for the ninth year organized the traditional summer camp in July 2022 for coeliac children. This year also Ukranians families was able to participate with financial support from AOECS.
It is getting increasingly more difficult for people to find gluten-free food inside Ukraine. The humanitarian aid to ship gluten-free food into Ukraine continues and 750 food parcels were delivered to different regions inside Ukraine in April. More help is needed.
AOECS emergency fund to help coeliacs affected by the war is coming to use. National Coeliac Societies from neighboring countries to Ukraine are coordinating transports into Ukraine. The Ukranian Coeliac Society is administering donated gluten-free food inside Ukraine in its turn.
AOECS sets up a Central Emergency Fund for handling donations to Ukrainian Coeliacs. The funds will in short term be used to administer the logistics of distributing already donated gluten-free food.
