Arctic Bath recognised by Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026 for Sustainability and Innovation
Arctic Bath has been recognised by the Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026 with the award Engagement for Sustainability & Innovation, while also being ranked as one of Sweden’s highest-rated hotels in the first edition of the Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026.
With a score of 98 out of 100, Arctic Bath is placed alongside some of the country’s most established hospitality destinations. The highest-ranked hotel in Sweden this year is Grand Hôtel Stockholm, awarded 100 out of 100 points.
The recognition of the award Engagement for Sustainability & Innovationcomes with the following motivation from Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026:
“Floating on the Lule River, Arctic Bath is one of the most innovative hospitality concepts in Scandinavia, combining architecture, nature and sustainability in a truly unique way. Designed to operate with minimal environmental impact, the hotel offers guests an immersive Arctic experience centred around wellbeing and a deep connection to nature. Its striking circular structure, inspired by traditional timber floating, and its ability to adapt across seasons reflect a forward-thinking approach to both design and operations. Through its focus on simplicity, energy efficiency and place-based experiences, Arctic Bath stands as a powerful example of how innovation can create meaningful and responsible travel in the far north.”
For Arctic Bath, the recognition is received with both gratitude and humility.
– We are deeply honoured to be recognised by Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026, and humbly proud to be placed alongside such respected and long-established hotels. To be ranked just after Grand Hôtel Stockholm is something we receive with great appreciation and respect, says Lisa Johansson, Sales & Marketing Director at Arctic Bath.
Over the past years, Arctic Bath has gradually gained international recognition for its approach to hospitality, where architecture, wellbeing, gastronomy, sauna traditions, and cold immersion are closely connected to the surrounding nature. Floating on the Lule River in Swedish Lapland, the hotel was created as a place where guests can experience the contrast between warmth and cold, stillness and movement, comfort and raw nature.
Earlier this spring, Arctic Bath also entered the Nordic edition of the Falstaff Restaurant Guide and received the MICHELIN Key distinction, further strengthening the hotel’s growing international recognition within hospitality and gastronomy circles.
The team sees these recognitions as part of a broader and growing international interest in both the destination and the region itself.
– We see this as a positive sign not only for Arctic Bath, but for Northern Sweden as a whole. There is an increasing curiosity around the region, around slower and more nature-connected travel, and around experiences that feel genuine and grounded in place, says Lisa Johansson, Sales & Marketing Director.
– This recognition is very much a reflection of our team and the care they bring to every part of the guest experience. Their dedication, consistency, and genuine commitment to always giving their best to each individual guest is what shapes Arctic Bath every day. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank our entire team, as well as Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026, for this recognition. We are incredibly grateful for the people behind the experience and proud of what we continue to build together, says Klara Ranggård, Chief Executive Officer and Hotel Manager at Arctic Bath.
Arctic Bath hopes the recognition from Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026 will help introduce the hotel to new audiences and inspire more international guests to discover Swedish Lapland and the traditions, nature, and hospitality that shape the experience.
The team extends its sincere thanks to Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026, the jury, partners, collaborators, and everyone involved in the recognition.
