How would you like to feel today? Arctic Bath introduces the next chapter of its SPA experience
Arctic Bath began with a simple idea: a sauna, a cold bath and the Lule River. The contrast between warmth and cold, with nature immediately around you, was at the heart of the original vision and ultimately became part of the identity of Arctic Bath itself.
That beginning still shapes the SPA today.
Last winter, the Arctic Bath team began looking more closely at how the SPA could continue to develop while staying true to that original idea. The intention was not to create something separate from the place, but to return to what had always been there: the river, the forest, the changing seasons and the rhythm of nature, the contrasts between warmth and cold, light and darkness, summer and winter.
The first phase of that work was introduced earlier this year through a refined SPA menu, new Arctic Bath treatments and guided sauna rituals. The aim was to bring the SPA experience closer to the place from which Arctic Bath itself was born.
Now comes the next chapter.
If the first phase was about allowing the place and the natural calmness to shape more of the experience, the second makes greater room for the person experiencing it.
How would you like to feel today?
Rather than beginning by asking which product or treatment a guest would like, Arctic Bath starts with a different question: How would you like to feel today?
The answer becomes the starting point for the experience.
At the centre of this next phase is The Arctic Blend Experience, a new SPA experience created specifically for Arctic Bath.
Designed as an experience in its own right, The Arctic Blend takes place at a new bespoke blending bar within the Arctic Bath SPA and begins with the question of how the guest would like to feel. From there, the guest is guided by the SPA team through a sensory journey, exploring botanicals through scent, touch and sight before making a small number of personal choices and creating an individual Arctic Blend.
The experience is personal but not built around endless choice. Arctic Bath provides the framework and guides the process, allowing the guest to participate in creating something of their own while retaining the character of the place.
At the end of the experience, the personal Arctic Blend is theirs to use throughout their SPA stay and finally to take home as a sensory reminder of a particular moment at Arctic Bath.
The Arctic Blend Experience can be booked and enjoyed on its own. It can also be combined with selected treatments, with the Blend created first and then carried into the treatment that follows.
From place to personal
The Arctic Blend is not intended to replace what has always defined the Arctic Bath SPA.
The cold bath remains in the Lule River. The saunas remain at the heart of the experience. Guests continue to move between warmth and cold, indoors and outdoors, activity and rest. And the changing seasons continue to affect how the same place is experienced throughout the year.
What the new phase adds is another dimension.
Nature changes. Seasons change. People do too.
The SPA experience at Arctic Bath can now respond not only to the surroundings, but also to what the guest is looking for in that particular moment.
Arctic Bath started with something very simple: warmth, cold and the river. As we have developed the SPA, we have kept returning to that beginning. Last winter we started asking how we could let the place become an even stronger part of our treatments and rituals. The next question came very naturally: what about the person experiencing it? We do not all arrive wanting or needing the same thing. “How would you like to feel today?” gives us a much more personal starting point.
Developed at Arctic Bath
The process behind The Arctic Blend Experience has been developed at Arctic Bath by SPA Manager Diana ’t Hooft and the Arctic Bath team, building on the treatment and ritual development introduced during the first phase of the SPA concept.
“I wanted to create something where the guest is not simply receiving an experience, but becomes part of it. Nature is everywhere at Arctic Bath, but I wanted to bring it closer through the senses and through personal choice. The question is very simple: how would you like to feel? From there, the experience becomes yours.” Diana ’t Hooft, SPA Manager, Arctic Bath
Long-standing Arctic Bath partner c/o GERD, based in Jokkmokk in Swedish Lapland, is the product partner behind The Arctic Blend Experience. Their products have been part of the Arctic Bath SPA for many years, and their product expertise now becomes an integral part of this next development of the SPA experience.
The experience has also been given its own physical setting through a bespoke blending station handcrafted specifically for Arctic Bath by Magnus Bergdahl of Bergdahls Snickeri. Created with natural materials and tactile details, the piece has been designed to reflect the understated Nordic character of the SPA and sit naturally within the Arctic Bath environment.
Together, the process, the product expertise and the craftsmanship create the setting for an experience that is distinctly Arctic Bath.
But the starting point remains deliberately simple:
Five feelings.
One personal experience.
One simple question:
How would you like to feel today?
The Arctic Blend Experience launches at Arctic Bath on 22 October 2026.

The finished piece provides a physical setting for The Arctic Blend Experience and has been designed to become part of the SPA environment rather than a conventional retail or product display.
