Järvaveckan Turns Ten - with Axel Johnson as Main Partner

For a decade, Järvaveckan has brought together citizens, politicians, civil society and businesses at Spånga IP. Over the years, more than 300,000 people have gathered to listen, share perspectives and take part in public debate. This year, Axel Johnson is focusing on mobilising the power of business – for inclusion – and opening up more pathways to education and employment for young people across Sweden.

Axel Johnson has been the main partner of Järvaveckan since 2018. Over the past few years, the initiative has grown to include the Järvaveckan Research reports, which shed light on the realities and attitudes in disadvantaged areas and contribute to a fact-based public debate. The latest report, "Business and Industry: Diversity and Inclusion 2026", examines how Swedish companies are working with diversity and inclusion – but also which attitudes and structures actually shape people's opportunities in the labour market.

Axel Johnson CEO Caroline Berg is a co-founder and chair of the Järvaveckan Foundation. She describes her commitment this way:

“Järvaveckan is about something that matters deeply: the trust between people, between institutions and individuals – and between future generations of citizens and today’s decision-makers. For us at Axel Johnson, our commitment to Järvaveckan and to inclusion is a way of taking responsibility – both for society and for our own future.”

Axel Johnson drives inclusion at a societal level and within our companies through Axelerate, which acts as a catalyst for inclusion. Nasim Khosravi, Head of Axelerate, describes Axel Johnson’s commitment to these issues:

"Being the main partner of Järvaveckan is an investment in the future – a future where more young people feel that society counts on them, where businesses build bridges to work and belonging, and where opportunity is extended to as many people as possible.

We invest in tangible initiatives that can give young people their first job – initiatives that build pride, confidence and direction in life. One example is the SAO jobs programme, where part-time work during the school year is integrated into the curriculum for secondary school students in disadvantaged areas.

This isn't just about doing good – it's about the fact that as we work to build strong, competitive businesses, we simply cannot afford to leave a generation behind."

During Järvaveckan, Axel Johnson will be present with several of our partners. Together with Forum för innanförskap, we will also host a conversation on how businesses can open more doors to education and employment. The full Järvaveckan programme can be found here.
