SURVIVING R KELLY - PART II: THE RECKONING

Wednesdays at 22:00 from 26 February

The original, groundbreaking documentary series Surviving R Kelly was based on the theme of ‘hiding in plain sight’. Kelly’s music itself often acted as a near confession to the constant rumours that were circulating. Meanwhile, the music industry looked the other way, his employees who were privy to his behaviour said nothing, and the media turned it into a joke. Surviving R Kelly: The Reckoning will continue to tell the story. Following the release of Surviving R Kelly, the world has been shattered by the survivors’ stories, with people around the globe rallying around them and calling for justice. With recent developments in the case, new tapes surfacing, and a possible arrest, the present-day investigations will be the spine of the new documentary special. But in order to understand what’s currently at stake, we’ll dive deeper than ever before into how R Kelly escaped previous trials and into larger, intellectual themes that surrounded the case both then and now.
