LOST GOLD OF WORLD WAR II (S2)

Mondays from 13 July at 21.25

The quest for the one of the largest treasures in modern day history continues. The Lost Gold of World War II returns to resume the search for hundreds of billions of dollars of stolen loot supposedly hidden in Southeast Asia by Japanese General Tomoyuki Yamashita.

In season 2 of Lost Gold of WWII, the team dives deeper into the mystery. Guided by recent scans suggesting gold, they focus on three key sites: a mysterious waterfall, a crater known as Breach 6 and a large tunnel recently found. The series will dig deeper into the conspiracies surrounding Yamashita’s Gold, its link to the CIA and various historic world leaders. Will an all new team, extraordinary technology and unprecedented finds be enough to uncover the whereabouts of World War II’s greatest treasure?


UFO MONTH

Thursdays from 2 July at 20.30

This July HISTORY explores the mysterious world of extra-terrestrial activity every Thursday night. Starting on World UFO Day with UFO Dangerous Encounters Exposed (02/07)investigations uncover terrifying accounts of people who survived extreme encounters with extraterrestrial beings. Through re-enactments and expert interviews, we explore real UFO case files of dangerous close calls between everyday citizens and otherworldly visitors. UFOs: Top Secret Alien Files (09/07) looks at everyday heroes in law enforcement and the military, whose mission to serve and protect is put to the ultimate test when they come face to face with dangerous UFOs. Through re-enactments of actual UFO classified files and expert interviews, we explore the lengths that people on the front lines will go to keep civilian’s safe from extraterrestrial encounters. CITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD (S2)

Weeknights at 18.50 from 6 July

Don Wildman continues to discover what lies under the streets of today's greatest cities. In major cities around the world today, skyscrapers loom overhead, taxis honk their horns and street vendors peddle their wares. But below lies city upon city - each with its fascinating and unknown history. This series will explore these layers, which are often hundreds of feet deep, and examine a city's ancient cisterns, dank dungeons, eerie tombs, clandestine hideouts, and even underground shipwrecks that have been lost for hundreds and hundreds of years. What are the underground layers of the most populated cities on earth? And how did (and do) engineers build layer upon layer up to today's city streets? This series will reveal the technological marvels that allowed the construction of one city upon another – literally. (13x60”)

The skilled teams will be tested on their speed, agility, and teamwork by completing a series of expert tasks on a massive obstacle course. Suspenseful, fun, entertaining and family-friendly.
