Bluewater Helps Drives Sustainable Hydration Across Golf's Biggest Summer Championships

Stockholm, Sweden, 23 July 2026 – Swedish water purification and beverage innovator Bluewater is enjoying one of its busiest summers yet on the international golfing calendar, with its sustainable hydration solutions supporting players, spectators, volunteers and tournament staff at some of the sport's most prestigious events in North America and the United Kingdom.

In the United States, Bluewater has returned for a second consecutive year as the official hydration station provider for the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, in partnership with tournament partner TruStone Financial. Three Bluewater Flow Station 3 hydration stations are operating throughout the PGA Tour event, with around 30,000 water bottle refills expected over the four-day tournament. The partnership delivers premium, great-tasting drinking water as an integral part of the fan experience while helping reduce reliance on single-use plastic bottles.

Across the Atlantic, Bluewater hydration stations also played a major role at golf's oldest championship, The 154th Open, held at Royal Birkdale. The Mastercard-branded Bluewater hydration stations dispensed approximately 98,463 liters of purified drinking water during the Championship, eliminating the need for the equivalent of almost 200,000 single-use 500 ml plastic water bottles, a significant sustainability achievement benefiting both people and the planet.

The momentum continues into July as Bluewater heads to the 2026 AIG Women's Open, marking the landmark 50th staging of the Championship. Taking place at Royal Lytham & St Annes in Lancashire, England, from July 29 to August 2, Bluewater hydration stations will once again provide players, officials, volunteers, and thousands of golf fans with great-tasting drinking water purified by the company's advanced technology, which removes virtually all known waterborne contaminants, including PFAS "forever chemicals" and microplastics.

"Golf is demonstrating how major sporting events can combine world-class fan experiences with meaningful environmental action," said David Noble, Chief Communications Officer at Bluewater. "We're delighted to see growing demand for our hydration solutions as tournament organizers and sponsors recognize that providing safe, great-tasting drinking water while dramatically reducing single-use plastic waste is a win for everyone."

"Whether we're supporting a PGA Tour event in the United States, The Open, or the AIG Women's Open here in the UK, our mission remains the same: to help people stay hydrated with purified water and to demonstrate that major sporting events can significantly reduce their environmental footprint."

Bluewater's growing presence at leading international sporting events reflects the company's commitment to helping organizers, sponsors, and venues eliminate unnecessary single-use plastics while providing premium hydration through innovative Swedish water-purification technology.
