Bluewater USA Named Official Water Partner for 2026 United States Coffee Competition Series

Stockholm, Sweden, February 27, 2026 – Baristas and roasters at the 2026 United States Coffee Competition series will now have unmatched control over their most crucial ingredient: water. Bluewater USA has been named the official water partner for the event, offering technology that enables competitors to purify and tailor water specifically for specialty coffee. The partnership also underscores a major milestone for the premium water purification brand as it deepens its roots in America’s thriving specialty coffee community.

The partnership kicks off at the U.S. Roasters Championship, taking place February 27 to March 1 in Houston, where 24 of the country’s top coffee roasters will compete for the national title. The event is part of the United States Coffee Competition (USCC) series and is organized by Roastronix, the official event partner of the Specialty Coffee Association.

For Bluewater, the announcement is more than a logo on a banner. As the water quality authority in specialty coffee, Bluewater empowers coffee professionals to take control of one of the most overlooked ingredients in the cup: water.

“This is a big step for Bluewater as we blaze a new innovation trail for coffee professionals with our Bluewater Café Station,” said Niklas Ivarsson, Bluewater USA president. “It’s already won huge acclaim in global markets because it gives baristas and coffee shops full control over the water they use. For example, the Café Station allows users to adjust total dissolved solids (TDS) and fine-tune mineral content, such as calcium and magnesium, to bring out the best in every roast. When you’re chasing the perfect roast, water matters just as much as the beans.”

Coffee is 98 percent water. Yet many roasters and baristas still rely on inconsistent local supplies. The Bluewater Café Station allows coffee professionals to purify and remineralize water to precise specifications, unlocking flavor consistency in every batch.

The U.S. Roasters Championship brings together the best of the best. Over three packed days, competitors will demonstrate their skills in green coffee evaluation, roast profiling, and sensory analysis.

Day 1: Roasting Competition

The championship opens with a full day of roasting on the Stronghold S7X. Competitors will face off in heats of four, starting at 8:00 AM CST. Each group has 90 minutes to evaluate green coffee and execute production roasts. It’s technical, fast-paced, and intense.

Day 2: Audience Service

Day two opens the community's doors. Attendees can listen to live interviews with competitors, hear how they approached their roast strategies, and taste the coffees roasted the day before.

Day 3: Awards Ceremony

The event ends with the crowning of the next U.S. Coffee Roasting Champion. The winner will go on to represent the United States at the World Coffee Roasting Championship, held at World of Coffee 2026 in Brussels this June, competing against some of the world’s most accomplished roasters.

The USCC series reflects the continued development and progress within the U.S. specialty coffee sector.

“Bluewater’s role as water partner underlines a mutual belief: great coffee starts with great ingredients, and water is at the heart of it.” Ivarsson said.
