Bluewater shortlisted as finalist in the UK's prestigious 'edie’s Sustainability Leaders Awards 2019'

Stockholm, Sweden, October 22, 2018 – Bluewater Group has been shortlisted as a finalist in the UK's prestigious 'edie’s Sustainability Leaders Awards 2019' in the Water Management category. The individual winners of the 20 award categories will be revealed at a glittering ceremony being held in London on 6 February, 2019.

Now in their 12th year, the edie awards are the UK’s largest and most prestigious sustainability awards, recognising excellence across the spectrum of green business; from the best efficiency programmes through to product innovations, from stakeholder engagement and social sustainability initiatives to the people on the ground who are making change happen.

"Being shortlisted for a prestigious edie's Sustainability Leaders Award 2019 is simply awesome news as it reflects how Bluewater has put sustainability at the very heart of our business geared to provide access to clean water to everyone everywhere and halt the need for single-use plastic bottles," said Bluewater founder and CEO Bengt Rittri.

"We strive to be change-makers at Bluewater by harnessing human ingenuity to deliver innovative technology and solutions to return our blue planet to health for all living on it."

Bluewater has put sustainability at the core of its business vision. The company wants to harness human ingenuity to develop disruptive transformational thinking that will provide more people around the globe with on-demand clean drinking water in ways that will help bring an end to the need for throwaway plastic bottles.

The Bluewater Pro water purifier utilizes unique technology to provide an unmatched clean water delivery rate that generates up to 7,000 liters of purified water free of lead, chemicals and microplastics from a highly compact unit. Used in professional environments from restaurant kitchens to supermarket humidification systems, the Bluewater Pro can even generate pure drinking water from brackish sea water and other non potable sources.

Bengt, who launched a movement late last year to battle single-use plastic bottles, believes the health of the planet requires "imaginative thinking to halt the vast tide of plastic waste that sees over one million plastic bottles being sold every minute and less than nine percent recycled".
