Bluewater Showcases Water Built for Coffee at the 2026 U.S. Brewers Cup & U.S. Cup Tasters Championship
RALEIGH, NC, March 27, 2026 – Swedish water and beverage innovator Bluewater is supporting the specialty coffee community at the 2026 U.S. Brewers Cup & U.S. Cup Tasters Championship, underway in Raleigh, NC, March 26 – 29, 2026.
The event brings together leading coffee professionals from across the United States to compete in two of the industry’s most respected disciplines. The Brewers Cup focuses on manual brewing technique, precision, and presentation, while the Cup Tasters Championship evaluates sensory speed and accuracy through triangle cup testing. Both formats require a high degree of consistency and control across all brewing variables.
Water quality plays a critical role in competition performance and cup evaluation. Its mineral composition directly influences extraction efficiency, flavor balance, and aromatic clarity. As a result, controlled and repeatable water profiles are essential for competitors seeking to achieve consistent results.
The unique Bluewater “Water Built for Coffee” approach addresses this requirement through a two-step process. First, purer, safer water is produced using the company’s proprietary SuperiorOsmosis™ system, which removes up to 99.97 percent of contaminants from toxic PFAS chemicals to lead and minimizes water waste compared to conventional reverse osmosis systems. This process provides a stable and clean baseline for brewing.
The purified water is then remineralized using Bluewater patented LiquidRock® (LQR), a controlled mineral formulation designed to achieve target hardness and alkalinity levels. This enables precise adjustment of calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate concentrations, which influence extraction kinetics and flavor perception. The result is improved clarity, enhanced acidity structure, and greater consistency in the cup
“Supporting the people and platforms that advance specialty coffee is a core priority,” said Bluewater US chief Niklas Ivarsson. “At this level of competition, small variables have a measurable impact. Water composition is fundamental to enabling coffee to express its intended flavor profile.”
Bluewater’s presence at the event reflects its ongoing engagement with the specialty coffee sector, where demand for precision brewing and reproducibility continues to grow. By providing solutions that enable consistent water quality, the company supports baristas, roasters, and coffee professionals working at the highest levels of the industry.
