BookBeat presents international honorary award to romance author Julia Quinn

One of this year’s most prominent international guests at the Gothenburg Book Fair is romance author Julia Quinn. During her visit, Quinn will be awarded the international honorary prize BookBeat Outstanding Author Award”, a newly established, data-driven prize presented by BookBeat to authors whose works have made an exceptional impact among the service’s 1.1 million listeners and readers in Sweden and internationally.

The theme of this year’s Book Fair is Love and Desire, and a special romance program will take place on the Love Stage over two days. One of the highlights of the program is the appearance of American romance author Julia Quinn.

In connection with her visit, Quinn will receive BookBeat’s international, data-driven honorary award BookBeat Outstanding Author Award.” The prize is newly established and is awarded to authors whose works have had an extraordinary impact among BookBeat’s listeners and readers. The impact is measured using BookBeat’s user data, specifically the number of hours the books have been streamed by users across all markets.

“Julia Quinn is one of the strongest authors in the increasingly popular romance genre worldwide. Her writing is a huge success and has greatly contributed to opening the world’s eyes further to romance—something we can clearly see through the millions of hours spent listening to her works in our service across all markets. It is therefore a great pleasure to present this honorary award to her—especially in person during her visit to the Gothenburg Book Fair,” says Emelie Hollbox, Senior Book Performance Specialist at BookBeat.

Julia Quinn has written more than 35 novels. Her books have frequently topped the New York Times bestseller list and have been translated into more than 30 languages worldwide. She is perhaps best known for her hit series about the Bridgerton family, which has also been adapted by Netflix into a TV series currently spanning three seasons. In Sweden alone, the Bridgerton book series has sold over half a million copies. Julia Quinn lives with her family in Seattle, USA.

The BookBeat Outstanding Author Award will be presented on Saturday, September 27 at 2:30 p.m. on the Love Stage at booth C02:02 during the Gothenburg Book Fair.
