Camfil supports launch of revised REHVA guidebook on Air Filtration in HVAC systems

Stockholm, March 26, 2026 - The updated REHVA Guidebook 11: Air Filtration in HVAC Systems was launched on 25 March at Mostra Convegno Expocomfort 2026 in Milan during a dedicated workshop organised by REHVA.

Camfil sponsored the revision of the guidebook, and Tobias Zimmer of Camfil led the work behind the new edition in his role as REHVA Task Force Leader.

Guidebook 11 is widely used by engineers and building professionals as practical guidance for selecting and applying air filtration in HVAC systems. The new edition includes updated knowledge on Indoor Air Quality, filtration performance and the role of HVAC systems in reducing exposure to airborne pollutants and infectious aerosols.

The guidebook also considers the growing focus on Indoor Air Quality following the World Health Organization air quality guidelines published in 2021, as well as new and updated standards including EN 16798-3:2025, EN ISO 10121-3 and ASHRAE Standard 241.

“Good standards and clear guidance help the industry make better decisions when designing and operating HVAC systems,” said Tobias Zimmer, SVP Public Affairs, Sustainability and Corporate Communications at Camfil. “This guidebook gives engineers practical support when choosing filtration solutions that protect people while keeping energy use under control.”

Zimmer also took part in the launch workshop at Mostra Convegno Expocomfort as a speaker and panelist together with experts from universities, research institutes and the filtration industry.

The session discussed how HVAC filtration strategies can be adapted to current indoor air quality expectations and regulatory developments, and how proven filtration technologies can be distinguished from air-cleaning approaches that still lack standardized performance assessment.

By supporting the revision of REHVA Guidebook 11, Camfil continues its long involvement in international work on filtration standards and indoor air quality.
