CamfilCairing Week 2023 – Wellbeing for a Sustainable Business

Stockholm, Sweden 8 May 2023 – Since day one, Camfil has been all about clean indoor air for the well-being and health of people and the planet – our vision in fact is to make clean air a human right. We lead as specialists in the clean air solutions industry globally. Therefore it is natural that recently in 35 locations globally, the organisation focused on a key component of health and wellbeing as part of the annual Camfil Cairing Week 2023.

The theme ‘Wellbeing for a Successful Business’ saw Camfil employees engaged in well-being, indoor clean quality and sustainability activities. These focused on physical health and overall well-being in the workplace. “Wellbeing challenges" included adopting an indoor air quality (IAQ) friendly plant; encouraging practices such as drinking more water; performing a random act of kindness; and an update on indoor air quality by the Airgonomics Officer (AO) in each office.

Chief Airgonomics Officer (CAO): Be the voice of clean air!

The Chief Airgonomics Officer (CAO) is an indoor air quality advocacy programme at Camfil. Part of the company’s corporate and sustainability efforts, it promotes well-being in the workplace. It is a known fact that health and overall well-being contribute to work performance, increased productivity and even reduces absenteeism. Over 100 Airgonomics Officers monitor indoor air quality with over 200 sensors via a real-time IAQ dashboard.

In leading the CAO programme at Camfil Alain Bérard, President of Global Sales and Marketing at Camfil encourages all to live out the organisation's values and DNA to walk the talk on indoor air quality at Camfil. During Camfil Caring Week it became evident that indoor air has a voice and there are people accountable for indoor air. The Camfil Airgonomics Officers ensure IAQ for colleagues in the workplace so all can perform at their best, which in turn contributes to long-term benefits for all.

Alain Bérard, the world’s first Chief Airgonomics Officer led The Airgonomics Lab session, a monthly forum where Airgonomics Officers can share more technical know-how and practical approaches to maintaining IAQ. All Airgonomics officers have a toolkit of materials, guides, equipment and even a new training programme, Airgonomics 101.

Camfil believes a successful and sustainable business is one that prioritises the health and wellbeing of its employees. Camfil remains committed to its mission of creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for people, processes and the environment and – to make clean air a human right.
