Cavotec wins advanced radio remote control order on US market

The Cavotec global engineering group has been awarded a breakthrough order for its advanced explosion proof radio remote control (RRC) units by a leading US supplier for a land-based energy application.

“This project is especially significant because we successfully secured the order despite some intense local competition,” comments Mike Larkin, President Cavotec US Inc.

Cavotec will deliver 10 explosion proof RRCs for an EX Zone 1 onshore energy application. These units will be used to operate winch control systems on land rigs.

Providing safe and secure remote communication, Cavotec’s RRC systems are ideal for installations where guaranteed control and operation is a must. Intrinsically safe and with full ATEX and IEC approval, these RRCs are the ideal choice for all types of application.

This is the most recent in a series of orders for Cavotec RRC equipment on the burgeoning US energy market. In addition to providing RRCs to control cranes and winches, the Group has also supplied units that operate oil dispersing equipment – an especially strong growth segment in recent years.
