From Iron Man to Minithlete

BEIJING - Another triathlon star joins the 2nd edition of the International Minithlon at Beijing's Radisson Blu Hotel on 3 September: Dang Qi, the first ever Chinese amateur triathlete to compete at an IronMan event, has confirmed his participation today. As founder of China's Skins Club, Dang Qi will also share his knowledge and experience about the technical side of the sport with all the participants on-site.

Previously, this year's Swedish triathlon champion Annie Thoren had also announced her participation in the event, which is open for a maximum of 300 people. Everybody is welcome. The Minithlon consists of 17,5 metres of swimming in the hotel's pool, 288 metres of riding on provided bikes, and finally 42,195...metres of running. The competition is held in heats as of 13:00, with the best male and female competitors qualifying for quarter- and semi finals before the grand final at 19:10.

The fun event will be closed in style with a BBQ party at the event site, the Radisson Blu in Beijing's Chaoyang District.
