Copenhagen Malmö Port Hosts Danske Havnes Conference 2026 in Copenhagen

CMP was proud to host the Danish Ports Conference 2026, held on 14–15 April at CMP’s Cruise Terminal in Nordhavn, Copenhagen. Organised by Danske Havne and held every two years, the conference brought together more than 200 participants from Denmark’s commercial ports, authorities, companies and industry organisations.

Under the theme “Safe Ports in Uncertain Times”, this year’s conference focused on the crucial role ports play in preparedness, resilience and supply security in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape. Over two days, participants engaged in discussions on global security, economic developments, EU port policy and the future role of ports in society.

Site visits to key CMP facilities
As part of the conference programme, CMP hosted two guided site visits on the opening morning, giving participants first-hand insight into some of the port’s most significant investments.

Attendees could choose between a visit to CMP’s new container terminal in Ydre Nordhavn, set to open later this year, or a tour of the shore power facilities for cruise vessels in Copenhagen, inaugurated last year and now among the largest in Europe. Interest in the visits was very strong, underlining the sector’s keen focus on both infrastructure development and the green transition.

CMP CCO closes the conference
CMP’s Chief Commercial Officer, Povl Ungar, delivered the closing address on the second day of the conference. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of collaboration across the port sector and the need for continued focus on resilience, security and sustainable development in uncertain times.

Hosting the Danish Ports Conference 2026 at CMP’s Cruise Terminal provided a unique opportunity to bring the port community together in a setting that reflects both Copenhagen’s role as a maritime hub and CMP’s ongoing investments in modern, sustainable port infrastructure.

CMP would like to thank Danske Havne, speakers, exhibitors and all participants for two days of insightful discussions, valuable exchanges and strong engagement across the Danish port sector.
