On Monday, Minister for Transport Benny Engelbrecht visited the Port of Copenhagen for a meeting with Danish Ports and Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP). The main topics for discussion were the Danish Ports Act and the green transition, and the Minister was also given a tour of the port.
Malmö Industrial Park will be at Logistics & Transport – the Nordic region’s leading trade fair for everybody working with freight flows – in 2019 too. Malmö City and CMP will occupy a joint stand to show why Sweden’s best logistics location is in Malmö.
Now that the cruise season can be summarised, it can be revealed that CMP is continuing to break records. This year’s contender is Visby, where the number of arrivals increased by 40 per cent. At the same time, Copenhagen is consolidating its position as Northern Europe’s major destination.
Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) and DFDS have reached an agreement to establish a shore power facility in Copenhagen, which means that the Crown Seaways and Pearl Seaways vessels will be able to receive electricity from land.
CMP is participating in the sustainability event, C40 Mayor Summit, which is visiting Copenhagen in October. CMP will be offering a debate on ”Sustainable Cruise Tourism”, but will also be arranging a multimedia exhibition on the port’s importance in a dynamic and growing city.
A vitally important part of our work is the continuous inspection of our quays. In the ordinary situation, the inspection of quays is performed from a ship, where one checks from the sea side that the quays are in a satisfactory condition.

The world’s leading logistics trade fair, Transport Logistic, will be held in Munich on 4 - 7 June. Obviously, Malmö Industrial Park will also be marketed at the fair. Malmö City Council and CMP are on site along with several logistics companies in order to establish more collaborations in the industrial park.
By & Havn and Copenhagen Malmö Port wish to establish a container terminal and a new cruise terminal in Ydre Nordhavn and at the same time make the harbour deeper off the new terminals.
