  • Phasing out natural gas in favour of biogas - up 70 per cent less CO₂ emissions

    CMP established has a clear target of being climate neutral in our own operations by 2025. An integral part of this work is our transition from natural gas to biogas for the heating of CMP’s properties in Malmö. The decision to phase out natural gas was made near the end of 2020 and the shift was accomplished in the beginning of last year.

  • The goal – a fossil-free vehicle fleet and machine park

    One significantly important part of the efforts to achieve CMP’s climate goal of carbon neutrality by 2025 is the replacement of diesel-powered cars and staff buses at the terminals with electric powered vehicles, and the shift of fuel from fossil diesel to HVO in machines and cranes.

  • CMP takes measures for sustainable cruise calls

    After two years in which the corona pandemic has negatively impacted tourism in Copenhagen, a normalisation is in sight this year. This applies to cruises as well, where the season this year looks set to once again be able to welcome many visitors to Copenhagen.

  • New container terminal in Copenhagen

    By & Havn’s advisors are preparing materials for distribution in the prequalification phase with the goal of locating suitable candidates for a design and build contract at the future container terminal in the port in Copenhagen. The task will be sent out at the end of March 2022 the prequalification phase, and the container terminal is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

  • A visit to Westerman in Malmö Industrial Park

    In June 2020, the good news arrived that the Dutch logistics company Westerman Multimodal Logistics was establishing operations at CMP in Malmö Industrial Park.

  • CO₂ capture – To make Copenhagen carbon neutral by the year 2025

    500,000 tonnes of CO₂ will be removed from the atmosphere annually, which will significantly contribute to Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the world’s first carbon neutral capital by 2025. These are the goals of a new CO₂ capture facility at Amager Bakke, where CMP is an integral part of the joint efforts with Amager Resource Centre (ARC).

  • First Turn-Around call in Copenhagen in a long time

    Today, the Marina cruise ship from the shipping company NCL arrives in Copenhagen. This is the first Turn-Around call, visiting Copenhagen since the start of the corona pandemic, where the ship changes passengers.

  • Copenhagen to receive a new container terminal in 2023

    By & Havn and Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) have reached an agreement on the basic principles for a new container terminal in Ydre Nordhavn. The location of the new container terminal means that goods to the Capital Region of Denmark can continue to be delivered close to the customers, sparing the environment from added emissions and minimising congestion on the Danish road network.
