Rund 100 Spenden für soziale Projekte – Foundations von GCP und Aroundtown unterstützen 2025 zahlreiche Einrichtungen

Die GCP Foundation und die Aroundtown Foundation, die sich deutschlandweit für soziale Projekte einsetzen, bekräftigten 2025 ihr Engagement mit fast 100 Spenden.

Als eines der größten Immobilienunternehmen in Europa gestaltet Aroundtown gemeinsam mit seiner Tochtergesellschaft GCP nicht nur Wohnraum, sondern auch Lebensräume.

Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf dem Wirken der beiden Unternehmensstiftungen. Durch sie werden Vereine, Initiativen und Projekte unterstützt, die in den Nachbarschaften vor Ort tagtäglich etwas bewegen. So entsteht dort Unterstützung, wo Gemeinschaft, Engagement und soziale Teilhabe ganz konkret spürbar werden.

Allein im letzten Jahr konnten nahezu 100 Spenden realisiert werden. Rund jede zweite Förderung floss in östliche Regionen Deutschlands, unter anderem nach Berlin, Brandenburg an der Havel, Neubrandenburg, Halle, Leipzig, Dresden, Chemnitz und Rostock.

Zu den unterstützten Einrichtungen gehören Sportvereine, Jugend- und Bildungseinrichtungen, Sozialeinrichtungen sowie Seniorentreffs.

„Mit der GCP Foundation engagieren wir uns regelmäßig für soziale Projekte, Vereine und Institutionen in der Nachbarschaft und sind vor Ort stark vernetzt. Damit fördern wir das Miteinander und tragen dazu bei, dass wichtige Initiativen erhalten bleiben oder neu entstehen können“, sagt Christian Windfuhr, Executive Director von GCP.

„Soziales Engagement gehört zur Identität von Aroundtown. Wir gestalten die Gebiete, in denen unsere Immobilien angesiedelt sind, aktiv mit. Dazu gehört auch die Unterstützung von Einrichtungen, die sich in den Nachbarschaften engagieren und dort eine positive Wirkung entfalten“, sagt Limor Bergmann, Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), Group ESG.

Das Engagement in zahlreichen Vereinen ist nur mit finanzieller Unterstützung möglich. Da insbesondere 2025 viele Vereine von staatlichen Sparmaßnahmen betroffen waren, war die finanzielle Hilfe durch die GCP Foundation und die Aroundtown Foundation für die Vereine besonders wichtig, um Anschaffungen und Projekte realisieren zu können – manche zum wiederholten Mal.

Zu den Einrichtungen, die 2025 von der GCP Foundation unterstützt wurden, gehört beispielsweise die Kiek in - Soziale Dienste gGmbh, die ein Nachbarschafts- und Familienzentrum in Berlin betreibt. Sie konnte mit Hilfe der Spende „Bausteine für eine ideale Welt“ anschaffen. Dies sind Spielmaterialien, die den Kindern im Garten bei jedem Wetter kreative und abenteuerreiche Spielmöglichkeiten eröffnen.

Dank der treuen Unterstützung der GCP Foundation über viele Jahre hinweg und ihrer Spende im Jahr 2025 konnten wir alte, beschädigte Bausteine endlich ersetzen und unseren Kita-Kindern sowie den Familien, die uns besuchen, wieder einen sicheren Ort zum Träumen, Bauen und gemeinsamen Wachsen schenken. Dafür danken wir Ihnen von ganzem Herzen.“

Aroundtown hat durch die Unternehmensstiftung sein soziales Engagement in Berlin, wo sich auch der deutsche Hauptsitz befindet, gefestigt. Für den Einsatz von drei Kältebussen der Berliner Stadtmission übernimmt die Aroundtown Foundation in diesem Winter für eine Woche sämtliche Betriebskosten.

Das FC-Borussia-Brandenburg-Sommercamp wurde im vergangenen Jahr bereits zum dritten Mal von der GCP Foundation unterstützt. Somit konnten fünf Tage voller Fußballleidenschaft und Teamgeist für junge Spieler und das gesamte Trainer- und Betreuungsteam ermöglicht werden.

„Dieses besondere Event wäre ohne die großzügige Unterstützung unserer Förderer nicht möglich. Ein herzliches Dankeschön geht an die GCP Foundation, die mit ihrer Spende auch in diesem Jahr maßgeblich zur Realisierung des Camps beigetragen hat“, sagt Joana Kröger, Vereinssprecherin des FC Borussia Brandenburg. 

Die Kneipp-Kita „Villa der fröhlichen Kinder“ des DRK in Halle durfte sich 2025 über gleich zwei Spenden der GCP Foundation freuen. Damit konnten neue Spielgeräte für drinnen und draußen angeschafft werden. Zusätzlich sorgen ein Miniatur-Gradierwerk und neue Schlafmatten für erholsamen Schlaf und fördern die Gesundheit der Kinder.

Zum sechsten Mal unterstützt die GCP Foundation das Deutschlandstipendium an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg. Dank der Spende von GCP erhalten sechs Studierende ein Jahresstipendium und profitieren so von nachhaltiger Unterstützung für ihre Ausbildung.

In Leipzig konnten im letzten Jahr sieben Projekte von der GCP Foundation unterstützt werden, darunter die Villa gGmbH die für die „Leipziger Tastentage“, 12 Klaviere im öffentlichen Raum aufgestellt haben.

Zudem hat die Aroundtown Foundation die wichtige Arbeit der Arche in Leipzig im vergangenen Jahr finanziell unterstützt. Mit dieser Spende trägt Aroundtown dazu bei, dass die Kinder in Leipzig weiterhin einen geschützten Ort mit verlässlichen Angeboten, Unterstützung und warmen Mahlzeiten haben.

Neben konkreten Anschaffungen sind es oft alltägliche Ausgaben, die Vereine und Projekte dank der Unterstützung besser bewältigen können. Damit sie weiterhin Menschen helfen können, hat die GCP Foundation unter anderem die Dresdner Vereine GG Striesen Pentagon e. V. bei der Bürgerhilfe sowie die Treberhilfe bei ihrem jährlichen Sommerfest unterstützt – zwei von insgesamt vier Engagements in der sächsischen Landeshauptstadt.

Around 100 donations for social projects – GCP and Aroundtown Foundations support numerous institutions in 2025

The GCP Foundation and the Aroundtown Foundation, both of which are committed to supporting social projects across Germany, reaffirmed their engagement in 2025 with nearly 100 donations.

As one of the largest real estate companies in Europe, Aroundtown – together with its subsidiary GCP – not only provides housing but actively shapes living environments.

A particular focus lies on the work of the two corporate foundations. Through them, associations, initiatives, and projects are supported that make a tangible difference in local neighbourhoods every day. This creates support where community, engagement, and social participation become directly visible.

In the past year alone, almost 100 donations were made. Around half of the funding went to eastern regions of Germany, including Berlin, Brandenburg an der Havel, Neubrandenburg, Halle, Leipzig, Dresden, Chemnitz and Rostock.

The supported institutions include sports clubs, youth and educational organisations, social institutions, as well as senior centres.

“Through the GCP Foundation, we regularly support social projects, associations, and institutions in the neighbourhood and are strongly connected locally. In doing so, we foster community spirit and help ensure that important initiatives can be maintained or newly created,” says Christian Windfuhr, Executive Director of GCP.

“Social engagement is part of Aroundtown’s identity. We actively help shape the areas where our properties are located. This also includes supporting organisations that are active in the neighbourhoods and have a positive impact there,” says Limor Bergmann, Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), Group ESG.

Engagement in numerous associations is only possible with financial support. Since many clubs were affected by government cuts in 2025, the financial aid provided by the GCP Foundation and the Aroundtown Foundation was particularly important to enable purchases and projects – in some cases for the second or third time.

Among the institutions supported by the GCP Foundation in 2025 is Kiek in – Soziale Dienste gGmbH, which runs a neighbourhood and family centre in Berlin. With the help of the donation, they were able to acquire “Bausteine für eine ideale Welt” (“Building blocks for an ideal World”) – play materials that offer children creative and adventurous play opportunities in the garden in any weather.

Peter Anders, Coordinator for Social and Cultural Services at Kiek in – Soziale Dienste gGmbH, explains: “Some donations build more than just objects – they build future. Thanks to the loyal support of the GCP Foundation over many years and their 2025 donation, we were finally able to replace old, damaged building blocks and once again provide our daycare children and the families who visit us with a safe place to dream, build and grow together. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Aroundtown has further strengthened its social commitment in Berlin, where the company’s German headquarters are located. This winter, the Aroundtown Foundation is covering all operating costs for one week for three cold weather buses operated by the Berlin City Mission.

The FC Borussia Brandenburg summer camp was supported for the third time last year by the GCP Foundation. This made it possible to offer five days full of football passion and team spirit for young players and the entire coaching and support team.

“This special event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Our heartfelt thanks go to the GCP Foundation, whose donation once again played a key role in making the camp possible this year,” says Joana Kröger, spokesperson for FC Borussia Brandenburg.

The Kneipp daycare centre “Villa der fröhlichen Kinder”( Villa of the Joyful Children) of the German Red Cross (DRK) in Halle received two donations from the GCP Foundation in 2025. These enabled the purchase of new indoor and outdoor play equipment. In addition, a miniature graduation tower and new sleeping mats now ensure restful sleep and promote the children’s health.

For the sixth time, the GCP Foundation is supporting the Germany Scholarship at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. Thanks to the donation from GCP, six students receive a one-year scholarship, benefiting from sustainable support for their education.

In Leipzig, seven projects were supported by the GCP Foundation last year, including Villa gGmbH, which placed 12 pianos in public spaces for the “Leipziger Tastentage” (Leipzig Piano Days).

In addition, the Aroundtown Foundation financially supported the important work of Die Arche in Leipzig last year. With this donation, Aroundtown helps ensure that children in Leipzig continue to have a safe place offering reliable programmes, support and warm meals.

In addition to specific purchases, it is often everyday expenses that associations and projects can better manage thanks to the support. To help them continue assisting people, the GCP Foundation supported, among others, the Dresden associations GG Striesen Pentagon e. V. in their community aid work and Treberhilfe with their annual summer festival – two of a total of four engagements in the Saxon state capital.
