DET markets regasification capacities at the Brunsbüttel terminal

In a marketing round at the end of October 2025, Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET) successfully marketed all available regasification capacities at the Brunsbüttel terminal for the period from early January to the end of May 2026.

A total of 58 million MMBtu (million British Thermal Units), equivalent to around 16 slots, was successfully allocated. The auction, conducted via the digital platform PRISMA, achieved an average price of €0.66/MMBtu. Natural gas volumes and regasification capacities are typically quoted in the standardized international trade unit MMBtu. One MMBtu corresponds to approximately 27 m³ of natural gas.

Dr. Andrei Zschocke, Head of Capacity Planning, Marketing and Strategy at DET, commented on the positive auction results:
“The strong market participation of more than 20 registered shippers, as well as the comparatively high clearing price, reflect the current strong market interest. For the first time, so-called reserve capacities were also placed on the market, which additionally contribute to supply security and to the stabilization of energy prices in Germany – particularly in periods of high demand.”

The remaining capacities for 2026 at the Brunsbüttel terminal are expected to be offered in the first quarter of 2026.
