DVGW CERT Offers Certification for RFNBO Hydrogen
DVGW CERT GmbH can now certify hydrogen from renewable, non-biogenic sources (RFNBO) according to the European CertifHy certification system. The DVGW subsidiary has been accredited in the CertifHy system since June 2026 and was recognized by the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) in August 2026. The service covers all types of RFNBO hydrogen and its derivatives, as well as the entire value chain. Certification is available worldwide.
Certification is a prerequisite for RFNBO hydrogen to be verified as such along the supply chain and credited towards European renewable fuel quotas. All companies that possess RFNBO and are part of the supply chain must have their respective processes certified. The service is therefore aimed at hydrogen producers and traders, among others.
DVGW CERT also plans to expand its certification services to include low-carbon fuels (LCF). It will apply for accreditation in the corresponding certification system as soon as possible.
