Energie Terminal “Deutsche Ostsee” Achieves Highest LNG Feed-In Volume in Q4 2025

The “Deutsche Ostsee” energie-Terminal operated by Deutsche ReGas in Mukran on the island of Rügen achieved the highest feed-in capacity of all German LNG import terminals in the fourth quarter of 2025. According to the operator, around 12.53 terawatt hours (TWh) of natural gas were fed into the German transmission grid via the terminal in the final three months of the year, including 4.24 TWh in December 2025 alone. This means the terminal accounted for around 15 percent of the average quarterly gas consumption of German households and commercial customers.

Compared with the four other floating LNG terminals in Germany, Deutsche ReGas contributed by far the largest share of gas feed-in during this period. According to Deutsche ReGas, around two thirds of the total feed-in capacity of these facilities was attributable to the Mukran terminal, corresponding to roughly 15 percent of the average quarterly gas consumption of all German households and commercial customers.

Ingo Wagner, Managing Partner of Deutsche ReGas, emphasized that the early start of weekly LNG tanker deliveries ahead of the heating season in particular had contributed to the high utilization of the terminal. The high feed-in volumes, he said, represent a contribution to the security of energy supply in Germany.
