Mukran LNG Terminal Continues to Experience Highest Feed-In Levels in the Second Month of the Heating Season
At the start of the 2025/26 heating season, the "German Baltic Sea" energy terminal reported new record figures. In November, the terminal in Mukran recorded the highest injection capacity of all German LNG terminals. This further solidified the trend compared to other terminals during the first two months of the heating season.
A comparison of LNG terminals in Germany reveals significant differences in regasification capacity in October and November 2025. Mukran injected by far the most gas, at 8.35 TWh (Wilhelmshaven 1: 6.20 TWh; Wilhelmshaven 2: 4.25 TWh; Brunsbüttel: 0.13 TWh; Stade: 0.00 TWh). This means that Deutsche ReGas, with its "German Baltic Sea" energy terminal, accounted for more than 44 percent of the total injection capacity of Germany's floating LNG terminals in October and November 2025.
Ingo Wagner, managing partner of Deutsche ReGas, explained that the injection capacity figures in Mukran painted a clear picture, especially given the current gas storage capacity of around 67 percent. The LNG terminal in Mukran, as well as the strategically linked downstream infrastructure, are a crucial factor for ensuring security of supply, particularly in eastern Germany.
