National Hydrogen Council presents overview of research and development needs for the provision of hydrogen and derivatives

The National Hydrogen Council (NWR) has published a new information and background paper that systematically analyzes the technological challenges and research needs along the value chain of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen as well as its derivatives.

The paper organizes the relevant technologies according to their technology readiness level and highlights which processes and supply pathways are already fully market-ready and where further research and development is needed in order to bring additional supply pathways to industrial maturity. The technological action areas are presented in the form of fact sheets that clearly summarize key challenges and development needs. The aim of the paper is to provide a solid basis for the technical evaluation of technological development pathways and to support the targeted alignment of future funding measures.
