DEFA ENTERS A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH PREMIUM CHINESE OEM PIONEERING THE ELECTRIC MOBILITY EXPERIENCE!

Slependen, 8.11.2023 — The automotive industry experiences a momentous transformation as prominent high-quality Chinese Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) enters the European market at an accelerated pace. DEFA enters a new partnership with a premium OEM to supply advanced, portable EV chargers designed to enhance the charging experience for all new car owners in Europe. The initial estimated value of this partnership is set at an impressive 30 million NOK, signifying the commencement of a promising collaboration.

DEFA shares our partner’s commitment to delivering excellent charging experiences and unwavering dedication to delivering quality products.

Presently, eleven Chinese OEMs operate in the European market. United in their confidence in technology and products, they aspire to quickly establish themselves as global premium brand players. The 'premiumization strategy' harmonizes effectively with more mature markets, such as Norway, where you find discerning customers who are looking for high-quality and innovative electric vehicles. Chinese OEMs are eager to collaborate with European partners and DEFA is preferred partner for several of them on delivery of charging equipment, including chargers and cables.

"We are proud to work alongside our partners in promoting electric mobility in Europe. This collaboration stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, user-friendly chargers," said Martin Jonsson, EVP DEFA eMobility.

As the European EV market continues to evolve, the importance of high-quality suppliers like DEFA cannot be overstated. Providing consumers with reliable, safe, and efficient charging solutions and accessories is a collective priority shared by both OEMs and regulators. By 2025, the EU is estimated to import 800,000 BEVs from China, representing a major shift in the highly competitive European automotive market. The common goal of promoting sustainable transportation and accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in Europe unites both companies in this venture.

The future of electric mobility looks bright, and DEFA, in partnership with the esteemed OEM, is poised to lead the charge into a new era of sustainable, high-quality, and user-centric automotive excellence.
