This premium series uses the Colosseum to tell the thrilling story of the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, through the lens of the men and women who fought and died there. From the savage truth of a gladiator’s life as a slave, to the fascinating revelation of the many ways Rome’s Emperors used the amphitheatre to demonstrate their absolute power, Colosseum offers a unique look at a pivotal period in world history.

Colosseum brings the architectural challenges of building the arena and the experiences of real Romans inside the stadium to exhilarating life. Each episode pinpoints one of eight key characters all based on real people from history. Featuring interview with leading historians, Colosseum uses striking re-enactments and special effects to infuse excitement into the personal narrative of each character. (8x60)
