72% of Healthcare Professionals Would Recommend Using a Smart Device for Monitoring Health
The integration of smart technology into common usage has revolutionized how individuals and Healthcare Professionals approach personal health monitoring. Over the past decade, smart health devices have evolved into highly sophisticated tools that aid in ongoing health assessments and early disease detection.
Huawei has once again collaborated with Ipsos to conduct the 2025 European Health Behaviour Survey, a comprehensive study examining the growing influence of wearable technology in personal health monitoring. By involving Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), this survey gains insights into the European population's health behavior trends and provides a deeper understanding of how technology is reshaping the future of proactive health management.
Top 5 Health Indicators Recommended by Healthcare Professionals
The survey highlights the Top 5 health indicators that HCPs consider most important for monitoring: blood pressure, blood sugar level, heart rate/pulse, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), and electrocardiogram (ECG).
Blood pressure emerges as one of these critical metrics, with HCPs recommending it should be measured several times a week. According to the 2023 Huawei Health Survey, consumers also agreed this health metric should be measured as often as possible. Smart wearables bridge this difference by enabling individuals to perform fast measurements as frequently as needed without requiring a doctor's visit specifically for blood pressure checks.
Blood oxygen saturation is another vital indicator emphasized by HCPs, who recommend monitoring it at least once a month. With a smartwatch, these checks can be performed daily with greater convenience. Similarly, ECG examinations, which traditionally require hospital or clinic visits, can now be conducted on the wrist at any time with smart wearable technology.
72% of Healthcare Professionals Endorse Smart Devices for Health Management
The study demonstrates significant professional support for smart health technology in user care. According to the research, 72% of HCPs would recommend using smart devices to monitor or predict health conditions.
As the adoption of wearable health technology grows, 58% of HCPs agree smart devices would enable individuals to proactively manage their health and prevent disease. This marks a critical evolution in healthcare—moving beyond reactive treatment approaches to a system where early warning indicators provided by smart devices can significantly enhance outcomes.
Building on this foundation, 83% of HCPs agree smart devices encourage users to take care of their health, and according to data from 2023, an average of 67% of all regular smartwatch users agree that analysis and suggestions from their device have influenced them to become more conscious about their health and lifestyle.
Furthermore, 78% of HCPs agree that smart devices encourage individuals to change their lifestyle, with 70% specifically noting that these devices promote regular physical activity. This trend was already visible in Huawei's study from 2023 where 90% of smartwatch users introduced at least one new healthy lifestyle habit as a result of using their device, and 88% of smartwatch users agreed a smartwatch has improved their physical health.
This growing health consciousness worldwide has created demand for convenient, comprehensive, and accurate monitoring capabilities that not only help users better understand their health but also empower them to act.
HUAWEI Set to Launch More Powerful Health Monitoring Smart Watches
Huawei's response to this demand is a system that integrates all of the company's latest advances in vital sign monitoring. HUAWEI TruSense system measures more than 60 health and fitness indicators, covering six of the body's major health systems, including circulatory, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, reproductive, and muscular, offering users an unmatched comprehensive health management experience.
The latest update introduced this year brings a new ground-breaking Distributed Super-Sensing Module, combining wrist-based and fingertip sensing to deliver significantly enhanced health insights, and dramatically improve accuracy, speed, and comprehensiveness of health monitoring.
As Huawei remains dedicated to pushing technological boundaries in digital health with ongoing research in advanced health monitoring technologies, customers can look forward to the release of the brand-new HUAWEI WATCH 5 and HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 series of TruSense System-enabled smartwatches on May 15, 2025.
