That’s what we call a garage gig!
World-famous metal band members give Elfa’s storage expert carte blanche. “Make our messy and depressingly unpleasant 70 m2 of garage more practical in our everyday life.”
Hannes and Floor Van Dahl are both musicians and members of the metal bands Sabaton and Nightwish. For you who aren’t into metal, they’re huge, really huge. “When we get home after a tour, we don’t want to spend time searching for things”, says Hannes. Our storage expert listened and took note.
Their garage was cluttered with things like drums, riding boots and tools. The Van Dahls was clearly an active family with lots on the go. They needed an organized space to quickly find their snowboards, sledges, quad bikes and other gear such as horse-riding equipment and accessories for the two horses in the stable next door. Garage bands, if any, were probably hosted in the home studio, also next door.
Two weeks later, the haven of garages saw the light. There were storage rails along the walls with enough shelves and hooks to hang pretty much everything. Add to this a sliding door solution to create calm and hide away lots of the clutter. We talk grey walls, red floor (not Elfa red, though), and a cozy sitting lounge. What else could one wish for?
"We’re extremely pleased!" says Hannes. Floor can only add to the praise: “I’d been hunting on Pinterest for some inspiration but never imagined that they could make it look so comfortable and inviting!"
