​“You don’t have to choose between looks and function”

Check in with Maria and Patrik, who have created a playful house with lots of personality, space and smart storage solutions.

When Maria and Patrik renovated the old townhouse in Trelleborg they wanted to keep the house character, while adding smartness and a modern industrial interior style. The beauty of it is that with storage systems and sliding doors from Elfa, this is all achieved.

To create enough space for storage in the hallway, where there often isn’t too much space to play around with, they are making use of the entire wall with storage all the way up to the ceiling. Maria and Patrik have also opened up the space underneath the staircase. And, by adding wall hung shelves here too, they have created a storage space for shoes they use more seldom.

“We looked for storage with an industrial and sleek design and great function, a combination which, at first, seemed impossible to find. But we found Elfa's top hung system in the new warm grey colour Graphite. The practical storage system made sure we made better use of the space and had the look we were looking for”, Maria says.

With smart storage solution in the bedroom and glass sliding doors, upstairs of the house is spacious and has that industrial modern look, which both Maria and Patrik was looking for.

“I’m so happy we didn’t go for standard solutions, especially when it comes to storage. We’ve proven that you don’t have to choose between looks and function. Our personalities still shine through in every detail”, Maria says.
