Press release -

Faber-Castell will welcome Simon Hauser as the new CTO in September this year

Stein - The Supervisory Board of Faber-Castell AG has appointed Mr Simon Hauser (43) as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer. Mr Hauser will join the company on 1 September, taking over from Dr Hans-Kurt von Werder (56), whose Executive Board mandate will expire at the end of September 2021.

Gerhard Berssenbrügge, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Faber-Castell AG: "We would like to thank Dr von Werder for his loyal cooperation. Dr von Werder has made very valuable contributions to our business development and successfully helped steer the company through a challenging phase. In India, he has also been able to significantly increase both productivity and sales, creating an excellent foundation for the company’s future in this highly populated country. At the same time, we are delighted to be able to fill the position of Chief Technology Officer with an equally, internationally-experienced manager."

After gaining experience in the automotive industry and consulting, Simon Hauser worked for BSH Hausgeräte GmbH (domestic appliances) for 14 years in a number of different management positions, both in Germany and abroad. In addition to holding positions in China, he was, among other things, General Director and Plant Manager of the Russian production subsidiary and subsequently headed Development, Quality, Technical Product Marketing and Manufacturing for refrigeration appliances in Turkey, the Middle East, CIS and African regions. Most recently, as Senior Vice President Head of the Production Division Laundry Care, he was responsible for the division’s worldwide production and the global production network.

Simon Hauser: "I am looking forward to meeting the challenges of this exciting position. It will be a great honour to be part of the Faber-Castell Board of Management and to sustainably develop the company with its worldwide production sites."
