NATO Allied Air Command and Swedish Air Force to Host Ramstein Flag 26 Media Day at Kallax Air Base, 16 June

Ramstein, Germany - The Swedish Air Force, supported by NATO Allied Air Command (NATO AIRCOM), will host a media event at the Norrbotten Wing, Kallax Air Base, on 16 June as part of Ramstein Flag 26 (RAFL26).

Attending media will have the opportunity to capture imagery of Swedish and Allied air assets, engage with aircrew, and receive briefings on the strategic importance of high-north operations within the Alliance framework. They will also visit some functionalities provided during the RAFL26 like the Deployable Air Control Centre Recognised Air Picture Production Centre Sensor Fusion Post (DARS) provided by NATO’s Deployable Air Command and Control Centre (DACCC). During the media day, journalists will also address their questions to NATO and Swedish representatives.

Event Details:
Location: Norrbotten Wing, Kallax Air Base, Luleå. Detailed meeting points and timings will be shared upon confirmed registration.
Media Requirements: Press card, Passport/ID and Diplomatic clearance for non-Swedish citizens. International media (non-Swedish citizens) who want to visit a Swedish Armed Forces base must fill a "Request For Visit” (RFV) document. This will be mailed to you upon registration.

Registration and Access Requirements:
Due to strict security protocols at Swedish Armed Forces bases, registration is mandatory and subject to the following rules and deadlines:

  1. To request your participation, please email swaf-hq-komm@mil.se (and courtesy copy ) with the following details:
  • Full Name, Media Outlet and contact information (email and phone number)
  • Date of Birth and place of birth.
  • Nationality and Passport/ID Number

    Request for participation must be sent as follows:
  • Non-Swedish Citizens: no later than 27 May.
  • Swedish Citizens: no later than 10 June.

Important for International Media:
International journalists (non-Swedish citizens) require Diplomatic Clearance. Upon registration, you will receive a "Request for Visit" (RFV) document by Swedish authorities. You must complete this form and submit it to your respective embassy or diplomatic mission in Sweden for processing before the 27 May.

Other media events could be assessed on an opportunity basis. Hosting nations will communicate in case of further local/national media events.

Attendance is limited. Registration does not guarantee access until you receive a formal confirmation from the Swedish Air Force and your RFV is fully approved.
